Saudi Arabian medical team provides treatment to 1,400 people

(Source ENA July 7, 2009 Addis Ababa) - Saudi Arabian medical team provided medical treatment to close to 1,400 people. The Tigray Development Association (TDA) has facilitated situation to bring the team here.

The team has officially concluded its 12-day free medical service here on Tuesday.

 Speaking at the occasion, Board Chairman of TDA, Dr. Wolday Amaha said since its establishment 20 years back, the association has benefited over two million people from the development projects executed in various parts of the State.

 He said some six of the 45 branch bureaus of the association are found in the Middle East.

 The chairman said the ten-member team delivered otolaryngology service to the stated number of adults and children at Black Lion and St. Paulos hospitals as well as Awelia health centre here in the metropolis. Some 724 of the beneficiaries are females.

 Team Leader, Mukssein Ali Mukussein on his part said the team has conducted more than 20 serious surgeries, he said.

 Ministry of Health Representative, Dr. Abrham Endeshaw praised the excellent cooperation the government and people of Saudi Arabia showed to Ethiopia.
