His Excellency Mayor of Mekelle City Ato Fisseha Zerihun and Ato G/Sillassie Asgedom cut the ribbon and inaugurated the blocks.
Chief administrator of Quiha administrative area, Ato Girmay Tesfay on the occasion reminded of that Woldu Nigusses Secondary School was damaged by the Derge bombard and was renovated by TDA. He added that Ato G/Sillassie Asgedom is one of the devoted developmental investors to well-come TDA Telethon call, construct and hand-over quality buildings within 3 months. He thanked and applauded him and declared that a title of “Development Ambassador of Quiha” was given to Ato G/Sillassie Asgedom by the Quiha administrative area.
His Excellency Ato Fissiha Zerihun on the occasion reminded of that over 21 million birr was pledged during the Telethon conducted at Mekelle City level to solve classroom constriction and hence ensure quality education and that Ato G/Sillassie Asgedom is one of the investors to well-come the call, construct and hand-over quality buildings.
He thanked and applauded Ato G/Sillassie in his name and in the name of Mekelle City administration for his outstanding contribution to his people. He also said that it is not because Ato G/Sillassie is well-to-do but because it is his devotion and commitment to his people.
Owner of Dalol Stone and Cement Factor PLC Ato G/Sillassie Asgedom on the ceremony said that our antecedents have struggled under the slogan “Today We are few, but thousands Tomorrow” and also noted that it is because we have trusts to distribute education to all our people and we have the home work to do.
He finally called on the youth to follow the footsteps of their antecedents to ensure development.
TDA representative Ato Girmay kahsay on the occasion said that so far over 35 schools have been constructed by TDA Telethon and have began providing services. Besides, the community being mobilized by the objective and spirit of TDA Telethon, has constructed over 400 schools and librated thousands of children from makeshift schools. He finally thanked and applauded Ato G/Sillassie Asgedom in his name, in the name of TDA and beneficiaries.
Residents of Quiha town, students, and teachers expressed their happiness and thanks hanging slogans like Ato G/Sillassie Development Ambassador to Quiha” poems, and cultural songs.
Different awards have been given to Ato G/Sillassie from the community and the Quiha administrative Area.
Ato G/Sillassie Asgedom is also constructing on TVET college in Edaga Hamus town in the name of TDA Telethon.
The two additional blocks are providing comfortable service to over 400 students.
