TDA Telethon School Constructed by the National Regional Government of Somali Inaugurated

The school constructed in South Eastern zone of Tigrai, Seharti Samre wereda Gijet kebele by the National Regional State of Somali in collaboration with the community of Gijet was inaugurated on February 20, 2010 (Yekatit 13, 2002 E.c) and began rending services.

TDA representative Ato Mehari Hagos and Vice wereda administration Ato Birhanu Begdom inaugurated the school.
Ato Mehari HAgos on the occasion reminded of that TDA has been intervening mainly on education and health programs. Particularly in Seharti Samre wereda, TDA has implemented many development projects. So far 380 makeshift schools have been changed to modern buildings across Tigrai by the community mobilized by the objective and spirit of TDA Telethon and many school children have been librated from strong sun rays, wind, dusts and cold. He also mentioned that the inaugurated school will strengthened the bond between nations, nationalities and peoples of Ethiopia. Finally he thanked the national regional state of Somali for its outstanding support and expressed his belief TDA will be strong development association.
Vice wereda administrator Ato Birhanu Begdom on his part thanked and applauded TDA and the National Regional State of Somali for seeing far the problems of children suffering from strong sun light and wind and constructing modern school.
The newly constructed school called” Meda Gijet Primary School” has two big blocks consisting of classrooms, offices, library and latrines for both male and female students. The school costs over 700,000 (seven hundred thousand birr) and it has librated over 180 school children from miserable makeshift school.
The community and wereda administration has awarded cup to the national regional state of Somali to express their happiness.
