This school is one of the results of the TDA Millinnum Telethon conducted on September 2008 aimed at changing over 700 makeshift schools to modern buildings.
Vice chief wereda administrator of Hintal Wajerat wereda Ato Reda Desta and Wereda education office head Ato Tadesse Adane together said on the occasion that for we have a developmental government and TDA being born from the womb of the people of Tigrai, the efforts exerted by TDA to bring about quality education in Tigrai should be appreciated and supported.
They also expressed their appreciation to TDA in providing schooling services to thousands of school children behind their houses.
The officials finally thanked and expressed their appreciation to the Mekelle University Community.
Dr. Kindey G/hiwot, Vice president of the Mekelle University and TDA board member representing the MU was quated as saying ‘’the participation of the Mekelle University will not be restricted in building schools, rather goes until quality of eductation is maintained in fulfilling all the necessary facilities.
Representative of TDA Ato Girmay K/Mariam on the occasion assured that TDA hand-in-glove with the people will pursue in the development activities and reminded of the village community to protect the school and send their children to the school.
The complete primary school constructed by the Mekelle University consists of two blocks having four classrooms, library, office and laterin and reported that the total cost is over 600,000.00 (six hundred thousand birr).
The school is providing comfortable schooling services to over one thousand children librating them from the miserable makeshift school to comfortable modern building school.
