A High Level USAID Delegate Visits Tigray & Tigray Development Association

A high level USAID delegate led by H.E. Thomas Staal-USAID Mission Director of Ethiopia paid a short visit to TDA headquarters and program activities of CSPP project schools on 29, September 2009 and 1, October 2009 respectively. The delegate also held very important discussion with TDA management and CSPP regional staffs.

Ato Girmay K/mariam Representative of Ambassador Tewelde Gebru, TDA’s Executive director in his power point presentation briefed the delegate about TDA’s vision, mission, major values, major areas of interventions, major accomplishements, history of TDA-USAID relationship, major outcomes of TDA-USAID relations and major gaps in the primary schools of Tigrai.

 

 

 

Ato Girmay finnally thanked all donors in general and USAID in particular for its long year assistante and friendship to the people of Ethiopia in general and people of Tigrai in particular.

Ato Mulugeta Abay Regional Coordinator of Community School Partnership Program (CSPP) briefed the delegate about the back ground information, program goals, what has been accomplished so far, partnership, added values, challenges/gaps and future plans of the program CSPP.

The high level USAID delegate has visited program activities of project schools in Eastern zone of Tigrai and Kilte Awelaelo district.
The USAID/Community School Partnership Program is a three years USAID funded and contract implemented by Save the Children – US (SC/US) in partnership with Tigrai Development Association and World Learning INC. (WL). TDA is the leading implementing body in Tigrai region.
