TDA’S Millennium Fund Raising Plan launched in August,2007 on the Ashenda Celebration.
All captors of TDA inside Ethiopia and abroad enthusiastically received the MFP of 50 million birr. For example representatives from Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and UK in London pledged one Million birr over the allocated 5 million birr fund to be raised while the chapters of North America have contributed to build over 15 primary school as part of their MFP. Besides Saudi Arabia’s Contribution to build a school and purchasing computers for the secondary school in Tigrai, they are also wagging on the major MFP plan. TDA has designed several fund raising strategies to achieve the plan and to strengthen TDA. They are divided in to two big categories: events and telethon. Some of the events which are held: Ashenda festival, at Sheraton Hotel and Exhibition Center ,Trade fair in Mekelle, Adigrat, Shire, Adwa, a big Timket Music Concert in the Millennium Hall, and Transport owners ,drivers and assistances Music Concert at Metehara. These events are held with dual purpose i.e. fund raising and increasing members which were all successful. The telethon will be held on June 22, 2008.
What Are The Present Focus Of TDA?
It also helps to enhance micro and small enterprise by linking trained and skilled people with job opportunities. It will also support TVET with necessary machineries and equipment. It will help the rural community to upgrade the existing rural health posts to higher clinics and fill hospital with equipment and machineries. It will work hard to improve the quality and education in primary and secondary schools.
